Great Guide to How to “Do” Law School

This book is perfect for an entering law student. Tonsing goes over everything a law student needs to succeed in law school, from reading and briefing, to outlining, to exam writing. He augments his practical advice with clear examples that help students see how what they’re doing in law school will be useful in practice. Additionally, Tonsing doesn’t advocate a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, he suggests ways to make the study of law accessible for folks who might prefer flowcharts in addition to a traditional outline. He also provides step-by-step instructions for how to manage time, so that even the busiest student can still succeed in law school. As Director of the Academic Success Program at UNLV’s Boyd School of Law, I frequently recommend this book to students. In short, this book is a wonderful introduction to how to be successful in law school.
